CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S MINISTRY (CWM)

The aim of this women’s ministry is to provide opportunities for worship and fellowship activities for all women of the congregation, always putting Christ at the head of our gathering.  On the monthly calendar you will see the abbreviation “CWM”. As we make these plans, you can be assured that ladies will continue to have opportunities to meet for Bible Study and many of the various activities our ladies’ groups have carried out in the past, such as a summer trip. learning about and gathering offerings for mission work, serving for funerals, scheduling the worship greeters, making baskets for WLA’s Let’s Celebrate, making tray favors for nursing homes, and other activities needing a woman’s touch.  The difference is that these activities and service projects will be offered without the structure of society memberships, roll calls, or business meetings.  All ladies are welcome and encouraged to attend any activities they choose.   The current committee consists of Sharon Zinke, Stephanie Gutermann, Jane Thomas, Ardis Weigand, and Kim Wiepking.  Please contact one of these ladies if you have questions or ideas. Please check the weekly church bulletin and the calendar for more activities and details.

MISSION OFFERINGS

Mission offerings are gathered each month at our Bible Study for a designated project.  Those wishing to contribute but not attending Bible Study should place their offerings in Box #212.

OLD MEDITATIONS

These may be given to the Gutermanns or placed in the designated box on the north coat rack shelf in the narthex.  They are used in the WELS Prison Ministry.

FUNERALS

Before CWM, funeral luncheons were hosted by the Ladies’ Aid.  Now a group of volunteers contacts the family of the deceased and helps them with arrangements for a catered luncheon at the church.  When a funeral is scheduled a sign-up sheet is posted in the narthex and ladies may sign up to help the committee with various aspects of the planning and setup.  A dessert may be donated if you wish; otherwise all food is catered and paid for by the family.  The current funeral committee consists of Jane Bergman (583-3563), Lois Schaetzel (269-4050) and Carol Leonard (922-6650).
